When NBC launched an American version of the hitting United kingdom show The Office, it started with a brusk 6-episode season. These episodes were filmed in an actual office edifice, and used both interior and exterior shots. When information technology was clear that the testify would be a hit, they decided to move to a proper studio.

Scranton Business Park

Chandler Valley Center Studios is located in Panorama City, just w of North Hollywood. The studio has 2 soundstages, so the production built a almost exact replica of the original office layout. The edifice housing Stage 2 became the exterior of the Scranton Business Park, and was featured in most episodes. The outside and parking lot is instantly recognizable to any fan of the show.

Offset Christian Church building of North Hollywood

Most episodes were filmed in the studio, notwithstanding a number of episodes were filmed on location. One of these episodes was Phyllis'south nuptials, which was filmed at the Get-go Christian Church of Northward Hollywood. Jim and Pam live in the house that Jim grew upwardly in. He ends up buying the house as a surprise for Pam, and turns the garage into an art studio for her. The firm is located at 13831 Calvert Street in Van Nuys.

Fun story: when we visited the firm, we had a chat with the next-door neighbour. He told us that he was paid several hundred dollars by the show to allow someone to get into his business firm and plow on a bedroom low-cal. This was in the episode Broke, when Michael pics up Pam very early in the forenoon, honking his horn and waking the neighbours.

Darryl's House

Meredith's Firm

Meredith'southward house on The Office is actually right next door to Darryl's firm, at 14142 Emelita Street. Unfortunately the house has been completely demolished, and when I visited, there was a new business firm being congenital.

Toby's House

Toby'southward firm is located at 5752 Calhoun Avenue in Sherman Oaks.

Oscar's House

Oscar'south firm can be found at 5232 Longridge Ave in Van Nuys. This is where Oscar lives with his "roommate" and Dwight catches him skipping piece of work.

David Wallace's House

David Wallace actually has 2 houses during the series. The first firm was located in Pasadena, but was shortly replaced by another firm in Encino. The big estate is located at 5133 Louise Ave.

Erin'south Florida House

In season viii, Erin relocates to Florida. The house used is located at 7777 Cherrystone Ave in Panorama City, which is actually actually close to the Chandler Valley Studios, where the show filmed. When I visited, the house was undergoing some outside renovations.

A much derided scene shows Erin outside the business firm, simply Ellie Kemper is clearly standing in front of a light-green screen. It is rather odd that they chose to exercise this, especially considering how close the business firm is to the studio.

Since the business firm was nether repair, I felt information technology would be appropriate to practice a light-green screen type photo, merely like the show did!

Schrute Farms

While a couple locations were used for Schrute Farms over the years, the main location was at Disney'southward Golden Oak Ranch. The Ranch is located in Santa Clarita, and its a private property which is very strict nigh visitors. Fans tin catch a glimpse of some of the Ranch, including some of the backlot, from along Placerita Coulee Road.

Scranton Locations

While the testify was not filmed in Scranton, the show tried to stay truthful to the geography. Many local place names were mentioned during the prove.

The Steamtown Mall

The famous "Scranton Welcomes You" sign featured in the opening credits has been replaced, only the original sign has been on display in the Steamtown Mall. The Penn Newspaper Tower

Seen in the opening credits, the Penn Newspaper Tower is a landmark in Scranton. Due to the popularity of The Office, i side of the belfry at present bears the "Dunder Mifflin" logo on it.
